How to Apply / Submit

You may submit by emailing winterfatpresse@gmail.com with the category in which you are applying in the email title, your first and last name. (ex. PROSE; First Last). 

 
If you are submitting as a Reading Room reader, please specify in the email body alongside your work and include an author bio. 

Magazine Submission Guidelines

Poetry (verse or experimental): Submit as PDF or .docx.

Prose (creative nonfiction, auto-theory, hybrid poetry / prose): Submit as a PDF or .docx.

Translations*: The same guidelines for above form parameters apply. Please submit both the original and the translation whenever possible of your work or others.

Visual Art (collage, painting, drawing, fiber, textile, sculpture, photography, mixed media, printmaking, digital art): Submit as high-resolution JPEG or TIFF.

Performance (theatre, song, speech, dance): Submit as .mp4 or .mp3, docx., or PDF.

Simultaneous submissions are appropriate, but we ask you to be straightforward regarding this when you submit. If you are accepted elsewhere, please inform the editorial team promptly.

*If you are submitting your translation of someone else’s work, particularly previously published work, please include their name and if available, the original copyright holder and translation rights. If accepted, you are responsible for securing those rights.
